So if you are to get an audio streamer and this is a concern for you, make sure it supports gapless playback.
However, the Gapless playback option is disabled, so not allowing you to set it, if the standard UPnP/DLNA streamer itself does not support gapless playback. When you create an OpenHome renderer for the standard UPnP/DLNA streamer in BubbleUPnP Server, there's also an option to provide Gapless playback (for the created OpenHome renderer). You didn't say if gapless playback support is a must for you.
Just see what the audio quality is like, though with the TV you've got the hassle of having to switch it on. Yes a bit of a coincidence - the image was from the BubbleUPnP Server's website and last I heard its developer, Bubbleguuum, is based in France! I do notice that the DDRC-22A says that it only handles 96khz, but the DDRC-24 doesn't seem to have a limitation listed, would that possible degrade the MQA sound if both the inputs and outputs are analog? The benefit of the second option is I'd have additional inputs to hook in other devices if I'd like, and I'd also be able to put something like the MiniDSP DDRC-24 into the chain to add Dirac room correction later on if I'd like. If I go the second route and connect everything from the Bluesound Node 2 down via analog, will any of those devices degrade the MQA signal? Do you have to have special analog inputs or internal signal pathways to handle the 192khz MQA files? I'm a bit torn between two options:ġ - get the Bluesound Powernode 2 for an 'all in one' solution, it looks like it uses Hypex UCD amps from what I've read, which are supposed to be of high quality.Ģ - get the Bluesound Node 2 and then a pre-amp and an amp (thinking Emotiva PT-100 and A-300, or the PT-100 and a Behringer A500). I won't need bass management as I have powered towers with built-in subs that can manage their bass internally.
I'd read that you can only get MQA files through the desktop app, but reading this thread it looks like the Bluesound products can decode MQA without having to use the desktop app, but rather using the iOS or Android app instead, can others confirm that they've successfully done that?
I'm finally getting around to completing my 2-channel setup, and I'm thinking I'd like to sign up with Tidal for my source.
